Michael is a commercial lawyer who specialises in banking and finance, securities, corporate recovery and insolvency law. Michael advises on a wide range of restructuring and insolvency matters, including acting for the receivers on two of New Zealand’s largest receiverships. He also has extensive experience in banking and finance and has provided advice to corporate trustees and public security issuers in respect of many debt issues and managed funds issues. He has been recognised as a leading lawyer by independent legal directories Chambers Global, Asia Pacific Legal 500, IFLR 1000, and PLC Which Lawyer and joined Lowndes from Chapman Tripp where he was a partner for 24 years. Michael is currently a member of the New Zealand Football Executive Committee and Deputy Chairman of the Local Organising Committee for the FIFA under 20 World Cup. Michael is also chairman of Forte Funds Limited a boutique funds manager.
