Rhian Jones
Rhian joined the Football Foundation as a Project Coordinator in August 2026 and will continue in this role for a 12-month internship. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management at Loughborough University in the UK and has joined the foundation as part of her placement year.
Having played football from a young age, Rhian has always had a strong passion for sports and enjoys getting involved wherever she can. Through her studies she has developed a particular interest in event organisation and marketing and is interested in how these areas can help increase engagement and connections within sports.
Through this internship, Rhian hopes to gain valuable insight and experience within the sports industry and develop a deeper understanding of the work and impact of the New Zealand Football Foundation. She is looking forward to building her skills, learning from the Foundation team and gaining experience that will help shape her future career in sport.
Over the next 12 months, Rhian will focus on a range of projects, including social media content, digitisation projects and storytelling initiatives. She will also support the Foundation’s wider communications, events and engagement activities.
